  • research,
  • development,
  • joint participation in research orders for third parties,
  • educational support.

1. Research

Objectives:
– for DIBE: to train researchers capable of producing high quality scientific results that can be measured through the publication of scientific articles and reports, the filling of patents and the level of technological transfer attained;
– for TechnoAware: to acquire skills, methodologies, approaches and high quality innovative technologies capable of enhancing and continuously improving the Company’s market offer.

Activities:
– scientific research activity for the identification of methodologies, approaches and innovative, high quality technologies capable of improving the state of the art within the areas of specific interest;
– preparation of informative scientific articles disclosing research results (for magazines, conferences, books, etc.);
– participation in national and international events (scientific conferences, exhibitions, contests, information events, etc.) within shared areas of specific interest;
– support to the organisation of training or information disclosure events within shared areas of specific interest;
– assessment and review of external scientific publications within shared areas of specific interest.

2. Development

Objectives:
– for DIBE: to have optimised, integrated tools and products to improve the efficacy and efficiency of research activities and to measure and demonstrate the quality of results;
– for TechnoAware: to accelerate the technological transfer of research results, for their more efficient optimisation, industrial engineering and integration within the Company’s market offer.

Activities:
– development of prototype, demonstrator modules that implement the methodologies and innovative approaches resulting from research activity;
– testing and assessment of the performance of the modules developed and of the methodologies implemented.

3. Joint participation in research orders for third parties

Objectives:
– for DIBE: to acquire and conduct research projects (financed by national and international instruments) and industrial research and/or pre-competitive development orders for third parties, within the scope of the shared research for the financing of A2Lab research and the development activities and for increasing the visibility and status of the Department;
– for TechnoAware: to collaborate in the acquisition and conduct of research projects (sponsored by national and international instruments) and industrial research and/or pre-competitive development orders for third parties, within the scope of shared research and the company’s market policies, for the financing of A2Lab research and development activities and for increasing the visibility and status of the Department.

Activities:
– research and selection of national and international instruments for the financing of research projects;
– technical design support, drafting and submission of research proposals and quotes for industrial orders for third parties;
– exercising of activities relating to financed research projects;
– exercising of activities relating to research order between DIBE (A2lab) and third parties.

4. Educational activity support

Objectives:
– for DIBE: improve the quality of training activities aimed at students of Study Courses relating to the Department (Degree Courses, Doctorates, Researchers);
– for TechnoAware: contribute to improve the quality of University education and, consequently, of industrial know how for possible future collaborations inside the Company and, above all, to improve the quality of future researchers within A2Lab itself

Activities:
– training of A2Lab internal researchers;
– support to the coordination and preparation of degree dissertations (Bachelor’s, MD) for university Courses of Study in the ICT area of the Faculty of Engineering in Genoa;
– support to the coordination and provision of educational theory activities aimed at students of University Courses (class-based lessons, seminars, masters degrees);
– support to the coordination and provision of educational theory activities aimed at students of University Courses (drills, lab training).
